Through all the changes and uncertainty, we're continuously inspired by the resiliency and innovative spirit of the people behind the businesses. There's a lot going on in the world of Travel & Tourism - here are some good news and happenings from within the region and around the globe.

The Good News(letter) is brought to you twice a month by the TOTA team.

Thompson Okanagan

The annual Vacay.ca 20 Best Places to Travel in Canada has named the South Okanagan as the top destination, followed by Cape Breton, Nova Scotia; and Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta

An independent film company, Lake City Pictures, is creating a documentary about 10 Okanagan artisans with 10 different stories. In the shadow of chain store closures, is it the small makers’ nimbleness that helps to keep them open for business? There is a current Indiegogo Campaign open to complete the project funding.

From now until April 1, Big White is asking its guests, industry partners and residents to consider donating to the Central Okanagan Food Bank. For every dollar donated, Big White will match it up to $15,000. Anyone donating from now until the beginning of April will have the opportunity to win prizes from Big White Ski Resort.

Tourism Nicola Valley was recently recognized twice for its innovative digital tourism marketing program, “Experience Nicola Valley” - winning International and Provincial awards in the same week!

Around the Globe

Air Canada has committed to an ambitious net zero emissions goal by 2050 - part of a long-term commitment to advancing climate change sustainability, part of which includes investing $50 Million in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and carbon reductions and removals.
