TOTA Updates

The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association is part of the BC Tourism Secretariat (BCRTS) which plays an active role in providing crisis communications and management throughout the province in the five regions of the BCRTS. The BCRTS works to ensure visitors to British Columbia travel with confidence knowing that their safety and well-being are a top priority for area tourism organizations.

The BCRTS works in collaboration with Hatch Comms to offer crisis communications support to tourism community leads during emergency events, as part of the Tourism Emergency Management Framework, ensuring that visitors receive timely and accurate information to navigate crises effectively.

These efforts continue in advocacy to the media to help share accurate information about conditions throughout the province in a way that maintains the desire to travel to the province. They are acted upon with press releases, op-eds, and media monitoring.

The Crisis Management team at TOTA continues to assist tourism community leads with crisis communications and management support. Our Know Before You Go webpage features up-to-date information, links to resources, and live camera feeds to help visitors get the proper information.

The TOTA Summit is Looking for Sponsors

The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association hosts the annual Summit as a way to include collaborators and industry professionals in the latest industry news and trends. For some, the Summit may be the only opportunity to network, learn, and share with other industry professionals, so we want to be able to have as many attend this conference to benefit and learn. We know that it is a challenging year to afford to attend, so we need the help of dedicated sponsors to enable us to offer the valuable content of the TOTA Summit at a reasonable price.

TOTA Summit event sponsors have the opportunity to generate brand awareness and market their business to other industry professionals through multiple channels before and during the event. Businesses will be featured on the event website, branding, and social channels based on the chosen tier.
