Thompson Okanagan

The much-anticipated reopening of Naramata Inn for the 2021 seasons starts rolling out on March 10! The Inn will start welcoming overnight guests on Friday, March 19 and with nearly 50% of rooms already booked they are off to an exciting start!

The Penticton Art Gallery and Cannery Brewing have partnered for a new public art project called SQUARE. Eight local artists have been selected to create 4’ x 4’ mini murals to be unveiled at Cannery Brewing. In the summer, the murals will be moved outside to Cannery Brewing’s Backyard and auctioned off to the public in the fall.

In partnership with TELUS, Big White Ski Resort has launched a new, family friendly and COVID-safe 'match the time' race on the snowcross track in TELUS Park. The TELUS Snowcross Challenge will run on three Saturdays in March (13th, 20th & 27th), with awesome prizes in store for those who participate and those who match Loose Moose's time.



Around the Globe

Japan Airlines (JAL) flew its first commercial flight on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which came from an unconventional source: used cotton clothing. The project involved 50 local companies helping to collect upwards of 250,000 pieces of clothing.

Chef Anthony Myint is helping restaurants fight climate change by connecting regenerative agriculture to the consumer dining experience through @zerofoodprint - helping restaurants assess emissions, improve processes, and purchase carbon offsets.
