Thompson Okanagan
Many Thompson Okanagan accommodations and tourism businesses like the Sorrento Centre, have opened their doors to the families and individuals who has been displaced by the flooding throughout B.C. due to heavy rains.
During such a difficult time for the province, it is inspiring to see individuals and businesses come together to help where they can.
In response to B.C.'s heavy rain damage, Swoop has added new flights between Abbotsford (YXX) and Kelowna (YLW) for travellers in immediate need of transportation or those travelling to assist in the recovery efforts and emergency response.
These flights are being offered for $79 to $99 all-in, from November 22nd to December 15th. They have also increased flights between Edmonton (YEG) and Abbotsford with fares starting at $49 all-in.
The Kelowna International Airport (YLW) has continued to work with its airline partners to add more capacity of flights in an effort to get BC residents home safely.
The Hotel Eldorado at Eldorado Resort is hosting Eldorado ‘Tree of Dreams’ event the evenings of December 7th, 8th, or 9th. The event will feature local artisans and crafters, food stations, carolers, and most importantly – Santa!
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to ‘Food for Thought’, a locally based organization whose goal is to eliminate hunger in children, one child at a time.

Our hearts go out to our neighbors in Eastern Canada who now to are experiencing severe flooding across multiple communities. If you are wanting to help, you can offer assistance by making a donation. The Canadian Red Cross has launched an emergency fundraising campaign to help flood victims.
The organization is helping people to meet their basic needs by providing food, lodging, clothing, personal services and transportation on a case-by-case basis.
