Grist Mill Foundation AGM

Support the Volunteers Who Support the Site

March 2, 2020
For Immediate Release

Join us on Wednesday, March 18nd at 7:00PM for the 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Grist Mill Foundation. Everyone interested in the care, preservation and sharing of this site is encouraged to attend.

The Grist Mill Foundation is a charitable registered society run by volunteers from the community and exists to support and enhance the successful operation of the Grist Mill and Gardens historic site in the community’s interest. They work independently and in collaboration with the Grist Mill Community Contribution Corporation, the business that operates the site as well as many other stakeholders interested in this special historical treasure.

There is no charge for this event, although you’re strongly encouraged to buy an annual membership to their Society at the meeting for $5. The Foundation will be providing an update on their previous year’s operations, their future plans as well as presentation by the operator of the site, Chris Mathieson.

In 2019, more than 50 people contributed almost 600 hours to community events and other activities that help keep the site focused on providing a benefit to our region.

(Also, the group is always looking for board members—if you have fundraising, grant-writing, project management, nonprofit governance or event coordination experience, please get in touch!)

ABOUT THE MILL
The Grist Mill and Gardens is a Provincial Historic Site operated by Grist Mill CCC, a Community Contribution Corporation. The site has much to offer visitors: tour the spectacular gardens, explore a working 1877 waterwheel-powered flour mill, enjoy fresh-made soups, salads and sandwiches made from freshest local produce in the restaurant, browse in the unique gift shop, or stay overnight at the creek side RV campground. Also be sure to check our website for details on our many summer concerts, workshops, presentations and other special events.
