FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A group of SilverStar staff are holding a barbecue fundraiser on Wednesday, January 8 from 2 to 4 PM.
“SilverStar has very strong connections with Australia, through staff, friends and guests,” said Chantelle Deacon, media relations manager. “Our thoughts are with the many people impacted by these fires, in Australia and those who are currently far from home.”
SilverStar welcomes the public to stop by and purchase a ‘sausage sizzle’ outside the Town Hall, with all proceeds going towards the bushfire fund. The public can also purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of many fabulous prizes like a SilverStar gift basket valued at $300, a SilverStar Fire Department sprinkler valued at $175, two framed prints from a local photographer, Blundstone boots and more.
“Thank you to the wonderful staff who volunteered their time to help organize this important fundraiser,” Deacon said. “It’s time like this that we feel so humbled to watch our staff come together, on their own time and support an extremely important cause.”
After extensive research and deliberation, the Volunteer Team who organized this initiative have decided to donate the funds to the Community Enterprise Foundation: National Bushfire Disaster Appeal as they are able to distribute funds to affected areas nationwide and WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) https://www.wires.org.au/ due to the devastation to many native Australian animals.
