Saturday, April 4th, 2020 - Big White Ski Resort
AltiTunes at Big White Ski Resort is an all-ages, multi-genre music festival headlining Arkells, Canada’s band for this decade and widely considered one of the most passionate, exuberant and in-demand live bands working today. The one-day festival will include outdoor activities, games, food, drink and an array of live music at the main stage as well as on the ski hill.
AltiTunes will take place on April 4th, 2020 and is produced by the group who created the summer music festival, Denim on the Diamond, downtown Kelowna. The vision is to create an all-inclusive space for families, skiers, outdoor enthusiasts and music fans, and for them to rejoice in a shared musical experience against an unforgettable mountain backdrop.
AltiTunes will start in the afternoon and will include a multitude of outdoor programming, however the main draw is live music performances on the main stage from Arkells, BC-based Dear Rouge and more local artists which will be announced at a later date.
Festival goers will have access to free skiing, discounted hotels, shuttles to and from Kelowna, games & outdoor activities
“Our goal is to transform the resort into a night and weekend of entertainment for guests to enjoy. Those attending AltiTunes after a day of activities at Big White will share in what is shaping up to be an unforgettable Apres-ski experience.” – Kurt Jory, co-owner of Thick as Thieves Entertainment (Producers of Denim on the Diamond and AltiTunes).
“We are always looking for new ways to provide value and experiences to our current guests at Big White, and new ways to attract non-skiers, a younger demographic and increase visits to the Okanagan by providing first class entertainment value at Big White Ski Resort.” – Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President Big White Ski Resort Ltd.
“We are excited to bring some of Canada’s top artists to Big White and to curate a diverse artist line-up that is authentic to the mountain lifestyle at Big White; modern rock, alternative, indie music artists as well as DJ sets at different locations on the ski-hill throughout the early afternoon leading up to our event.” – Mitch Carefoot, co-owner of Thick as Thieves Entertainment
“Our music is very outward looking. It’s not an insular experience. Especially in the digital age, where everybody is always on their devices – to have these big moments of communal feeling is that much more special. You’re actually out of the house, surrounded by like-mined people, sharing a common experience – as the front guy, I think about that a lot, how I can make that connection feel real.” Singer Max Kerman of Arkells.
