Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm

Andrea McFadden

I refuse to become another statistic; Canadian family farms are dying at an alarming rate and less than 5% of our land is arable. With climate change looming on the horizon, we need to stand up and fight for the right to farm our land and work to create models for small farms that are economically viable. My passion is not only to continue to care for this land but to create a sustainable farm model that can be an inspiration to other Canadian family farmers so we can collectively push back the tide of conglomerates and private estates gobbling up Canadian farm land. On my grandfather’s land we’ve created a vertically integrated farm model where we handcraft and sell sustainable skincare and culinary products made from the herbs we cultivate to dry, distill and infuse thus building the ingredients to create our unique proprietary products.
