Hotel Association of Canada working closely with BC Hotel Association
The Hotel Association of Canada, in partnership with the British Columbia Hotel Association, would like to share details of our short-term rental social media blitz in Kelowna that is now underway. City Council is moving quickly and we would greatly appreciate your support!
The purpose of this blitz is to ensure that the newly proposed regulations, which are intended to limit Airbnb’s hosts to principal residences and require operators to obtain a business license, get passed through the public hearing process – taking place 3 business days from today!
How You Can Help:
Please ask your hoteliers and other supporters in Kelowna (if applicable) to visit www.fairrules.ca/kelowna. The following information can be accessed at that link:
- Suggested Tweets for those with a Twitter account, that can be sent in support of our position. Tweets can also be accessed at the attached Social Media document. Tweets need to include City Councillor’s handles (they are provided).
- Template letter to City Council, in support of the proposed regulations. Within a few simple steps, a pre-written letter can be sent via email. Letters must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday March 11, and can be sent via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We encourage you to please share with your hotel networks – with your support, we can win this fight!
