TOTA AGM & Summit | Speakers: Jon Mamela, Angela Nagy, Kevin Harper, Walt Judas

Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association’s annual Summit is just around the corner! This year’s theme is “Drive for Sustainability,” and we look forward to spending time with those of you who have signed up! If you haven’t, it’s not too late, and we hope you can join us this year! Located on traditional Syilx territory, our venue of Spirit Ridge in Osoyoos is devoted to promoting inclusion, reconciliation, and community building. We’re thrilled to share this world-class facility that features a desert winery, sensitive landscape, and a coveted cultural centre with you all, joined by some incredible speakers to discuss our vision for a sustainable future for all.

Joining us once again this year is Jon Mamela. Jon joined Destination Canada in 2013 and he has been guiding the organization’s marketing transformation to become a global tourism leader through their integrated content marketing strategies and digital eco-systems to ring their partner’s cash registers.

He leads a dynamic and passionate team who are responsible for building Canada’s tourism brand driving international tourism visitation to the country.

We’ll also be hearing from Angela Nagy about making sustainable decisions. Angela is the CEO of GreenStep Solutions, a company that has provided sustainability solutions for small and medium sized enterprises since 2008.  She is a multi-disciplined consultant with an eighteen-year background in project management, business development, marketing and public relations, Angela has lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe, the US and Canada, working with all levels of business, non-profits and governments on a variety of sustainability related projects. She has been trained by former Vice President and Nobel Laureate, Al Gore, David Suzuki and IPCC scientists to deliver the Climate Reality Project. She is certified in Organizational GHG Accounting through the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute and as a Sustainability Practitioner through The Natural Step.

Kevin Harper will also be joining us from TELUS to talk about their ground-breaking data science.
