Peter Ricq Visiting Contemporay Artist
Jenny Long of the Long Gallery & Studios is pleased to be hosting Vancouver Contemporary Artist Peter Ricq.
This Solo Exhibit opens July 12th 5-8pm and will run through August 4. This is the first out of town guest artist’s whose work is being shown at The Long Gallery + Studios.
Jenny comments, I am very pleased to be hosting Peter’s work as the launch show of many contemporary artists I will be bringing to The Long Gallery to showcase what inspires me, and I hope the art community.”
Peter is an award-winning creative force from Vancouver. Besides his work as a Visual Artist, he is also a Television Producer, Writer, Art Director, Designer, Director, Music Composer and Performer.
In 2015 his band, with partner Robbie Slade, “HUMANS” released first full-length album which was nominated for a JUNO and put them on tour to Osheaga, Coachella, SXSW, and many more. He’s completed a feature documentary film entitled “Come Together’” which he co-produced and co-directed, as well as “DEAD SHACK” a horror/comedy. Website: www.peterricq.com .
At The Long there are 8 full-time artists creating and selling artwork in their studios. In addition to paintings being for sale, there are artisanal wares including limited edition prints, handcrafted jewellery, handmade apparel and cards. As well, you can see the works created by part time artists and join art classes taught by Long Gallery resident artists.
Jenny is best known as an abstract expressionist painter and is a well known art teacher.
