Baldy Mountain Resort will open as planned this Friday

Baldy Mountain Resort is happy to confirm that they are opening this Friday, the 8th December. The Sugarlump chair and the magic carpet will be operating. General Manager, Andy Foster said “After the early November snowfall we had some mid-November rain and have had little snow afterwards. Meaning we are not in a position to open the Eagle chair just yet. The Eagle chair accesses very rocky high alpine terrain and many of the big rocks don’t have enough coverage to make the terrain safe to navigate”.

With 2 of 3 lifts running there will be reduced lift ticket pricing in effect for opening weekend, December 8, 9 and 10. With regular lift ticket prices already some of the best value in Canada, opening weekend will be a great time to test your early season legs. Adult tickets are only $38, seniors 65 and over are only $19, youth aged 7-15 are only $24 and kids 6 and under are FREE (but must still collect a ticket).

The resort will post updates on openings and snow conditions, plus events and activities on and social channels.

The First Chair Festival will take place over the opening weekend, December 8, 9 and 10. The festival will include fun activities for the whole family: prizes and giveaways, free guided tours, local vendors, and a fireworks display. Ski, snowboard, compete in disc golf and let the kids have fun on a slalom course. You can even sip on some hot chocolate by the fire while your kids toboggan. Finish the day off in the newly renovated Baldy Bar featuring live music, drink tastings, a new menu and new hours.
