TOTA attends GoMedia Canada event October 2-5, 2017 in Halifax, Nova Scotia
Howard Grieve, Travel Trade and Media Specialist and Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of TOTA and Team Destination BC recently met with over 50 journalists from around the world during GoMedia Canada October 2 – 5, 2017 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 134 Journalists and Editors from around the world attended the event and had the opportunity to meet with 106 attending partners from across the country. There were 9 representatives from the Thompson Okanagan pitching story ideas on our region.
GoMedia Canada is about experiencing the best of Canada; it embodies the heart and soul of Canadian storytelling. The annual event connects top Canadian and international travel media and influencers with provincial, territorial and regional Canadian tourism organizations, major hotel properties, attractions and transportation companies. Hosted by a different Canadian destination each year, the marketplace features one-to-one meetings, pre/post and regional tours, professional development opportunities and networking events.
Following the event, TOTA organized a post event fam in partnership with Tourism Kelowna, Tourism Vernon, Sparkling Hill Resort and the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort by Marriott. Chris Johns based in Toronto and Charlotte Gross based in London, UK spent 5 days and 4 nights touring the central and north Okanagan to experience the local flavours during the Autumn Harvest.
