Santa Rec Run returns to Penticton, November 25

The sixth annual Santa Rec Run is taking place in Penticton on Saturday, November 25. Presented by the Bears Den Restaurant and Hoodoo Adventures, this festive event will appeal to participants of all ages. Proceeds will support the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society, a non-profit subsidy program that funds outdoor recreation opportunities for schools in the Okanagan-Skaha school district.

The race will start and finish at Hoodoo Adventures’ Outdoor Pursuits Centre (131 Ellis Street), with 5km and 10km courses that follow scenic Lakeshore Drive and the Channel Parkway. This year, organizers have added a 1.5km ‘fun run’ for kids, with a variety of entertaining stops along the route, including ‘Fishing for Candy Canes’ and a ‘Santa Boot Toss.’ Adding to the festive fun, all participants will receive a cheery Santa hat.

At the finish line, participants can look forward to hot chocolate, cookies, holiday music and prizes – including prizes for creative holiday costumes. In addition, Hoodoo Adventures will offer a full day of “climb by donation” at the Outdoor Pursuits Centre’s indoor climbing gym.
