TOTA 2017 Summit – Speaker Announced

TOTA Annual Tourism Summit and AGM
November 1-2, 2017

Our AGM and Summit theme for this year is ‘Aligning Forces” and this focus could not be more timely or important.  With the challenging tourism year many have had we hope you will join us as we review our post fire marketing recovery plans, provide new research and consumer insights, update you on the advances in sustainability initiatives and provide you with tools to align more closely with our partners including DBC, TIABC and Aboriginal Tourism.

We very are pleased to announce that one of our exciting speakers this year will be Patricio Azcarate Diaz de Losada.  Patricio is the director of the Responsible Tourism Institute and lead coordinator for the Biosphere Responsible Tourism Certification. Biosphere is the sustainable Certification Program designed for the tourism industry and promoted by the United Nations, Through UNESCO and under the auspices of the World Trade Organization (UNWTO).

Patricio will be joining us from Spain to discuss the sustainability efforts his team have been carrying out internationally, and how it pertains to sustainable growth in the Thompson Okanagan.

We are also thrilled to announce that Waterways has once again made a generous donation:

As in the past, this event gives us the opportunity to reconnect with our industry colleagues, share experiences, stories, learnings and best practice.
