PENTICTON, BC – From mountain biking, to pizza making to rock climbing; Travel Penticton’s Marketing Manager Austin Weaver has been getting out there to let visitors know that it’s “Still Happening” here in Penticton and social media engagement has soared as a result.
“We reviewed the figures for engagement on our Facebook posts for June & July and they are up more than 300% over the same time last year” said Executive Director, Thom Tischik. “And this is all organic, rather than paid for content. People are responding to the photos and videos that Austin has created and the message that “We’re Still Happening” is getting out there.
The first social media post for the “We’re Still Happening” Campaign went out on June 10th and Austin is continuing to visit local tourism hotspots, meeting with business owners and creating some amazing content to appeal to a broad spectrum of potential visitors.
“While it may look pretty glamorous a lot of hard work has gone into creating our new social media content and I would like to thank all of our stakeholders for their support” said Marketing Manager, Austin Weaver. “There have been lots of early mornings, late nights and weekends sacrificed, but it’s really rewarding to see the positive results and know that our strategy is working.
