A new sporting event is coming to Kamloops this fall.
The first multi-sport Tournament Capital Games is designed for the adult athlete and includes track and field, women’s mountain biking, women’s hockey, pickleball, slo-pitch, soccer, squash, swimming, volleyball, and tennis.
It will take place Sept. 8-10 at venues across the city.
The concept was inspired by the successful Huntsman Games in St. George, Utah. Founded in the 1980s, those games have grown to attract more than 10,000 participants from all over the world.
A Saturday Night Social that is open to the public will welcome athletes at Riverside Park on Sept. 9. There will be live music, food trucks, and a beverage garden.
