Salmon Arm Arts Centre is pleased to present “Why I Love Canada,” a multi-media exhibition by artists aged 15 to 24 on a Canada 150 theme. Reasons to love one’s country can be many and diverse. This exhibition challenges young artists to identify and communicate what parts of our Canadian identity are loved and appreciated, and what parts are neglected and need attention. The sesquicentennial is a time of reflection and of imagining. What young people value in our nation is what helps all of us plan for the future.
The opening reception is Friday, April 28 at 7pm, with refreshments and live music. It is a celebration of all those who put their thoughts, ideas and emotions into this visual form of communication. Everyone is welcome. The exhibition runs from April 29 to May 27, 2017. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm. Admission is by donation. This exhibition is generously sponsored by Richard and Miki Mann.
The Coffee Break and Artist Talk is on Thursday, May 18 at 2pm, and the gallery will be open that day until 7pm. Family Saturdays runs each Saturday from 11am to 3:30pm. Artist Trading Cards Trader Tuesday is on May 9 from 3pm to 4pm.
