Christina Lake Tourism Society is pleased to announce that it has been successful in its bid to host a Canada 150 celebration as part of its annual Homecoming/Retrouvailles Summer Festival. This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and in part by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary, Area “C”.
Work has already begun on this most momentous celebration, Canada 150 Lakers Style! With much excitement, Festival co-ordinators and community organizations across the Boundary are coming together to celebrate our diversity through dance, music, drumming, art and games.
The Right Honourable, Richard Cannings looks forward to participating in the celebration.
“Canada’s 150th Anniversary gives us all the opportunity to celebrate our history, our stories and our connections with each other. We have much to celebrate. Kootenay-Boundary’s celebrations will welcome residents and tourists to share in the delights of our region, creating many happy memories for all!”
\Grace McGregor, Director Christina Lake, shares her enthusiasm for this project. “Together we will celebrate our diversity, our environment and our relationships with others across our region, inspiring future generations and honouring this beautiful country we live in.”
