This summer, Sun Peaks Resort proudly welcomes Canadian rock legends 54-40 and Trooper to headline their annual Summer Concert Series. The free, live outdoor concerts will bookend a busy summer season on the mountain, taking place on July 1, and August 26.
Formed in Vancouver, BC in 1984, 54-40 rose to prominence in the late 80’s and early 90’s with smash hits such as “I Go Blind” and “Ocean Pearl”. Ringing in Canada’s 150th birthday on July 1, iconic Canadian rockers 54-40 will take to the stage to play the hits from their platinum selling albums, “Dear Dear”, “Smilin’ Buddha Cabaret” and “Trusted by Millions”, among others.
Arguably one of the most influential Canadian bands of the past century, multi-platinum selling rock group Trooper achieved international acclaim as they broke onto US charts with the hit song “Raise a Little Hell”. The Juno award-winning rock group will be here for a good time, not a long time, as they close out the Summer Concert Series on a high note, playing to a packed audience in the resort’s natural mountainous amphitheatre on August 26.
“The Summer Concert Series has contributed to growing success for our summer season at Sun Peaks,” says Tourism Sun Peaks CEO, Arlene Schieven. “With partial backing from the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) put forth by the Province, Sun Peaks has been able to offer exceptional live outdoor entertainment at no cost to our guests. This year, we are excited to host top Canadian talent 54-40 to ring in Canada’s 150th on July 1st and to close out the summer with the legendary Trooper.”
