Big White Ski Resort Hosts Dealer Demo Days

This week, Big White Ski Resort hosted 35 of the ski and snowboard industry’s most recognizable brands and over 200 retail representatives from Western Canada for its annual Dealer Demo Days, which ran February 14-15, 2017.


Dealer Demo Days is a two-day event designed for industry professionals to come together in one location and demo all of the upcoming products available in the ski and snowboard markets.


Suppliers such as Head, Armada, Salomon, Burton, K2, Bateleon, Rome Snowboards and Nordica all brought the newest models of skis and snowboards emerging in the market for the 2018 season. Owners, managers and staff from retailers such as Westcoast Sports, Boardroom, Mad Dogs Ski & Snowboard, Comor, Pacific Boarder, Winterland Ski and Caribou Ski were in attendance to demo the products available.


Andy Martin, former winter sales representative for Head Canada, originally organized Dealer Demo Days eleven years ago as an alternative to shipping demo products all over the province, costing retailers time and money.


“We decided to bring Demo Days to Big White Ski Resort as it’s central to the Okanagan and the rest of the province. They were the first resort to agree to Demo Days, and they’ve been such great hosts that we’ve stayed ever since.”


Andy has now officially retired from Head Canada after working in Western Canada for 25 years. He was awarded the prestigious “FIS” Big White Cowbell by Big White’s Senior VP of Sales & Marketing Michael J Ballingall and VP of Retail & Rentals Suzy Bennett. “Andy has been a professional friend of Big White for over 25 years,” commented Ballingall. “His enthusiasm to bring skiing to the masses through the Head Development Program has benefited all resorts in Western Canada”.


This is the eleventh year that Big White Ski Resort has hosted Dealer Demo Days, and it continues to be one of the best-attended demo events by both retailers and suppliers in Canada.


Demo Days is set up right in the heart of the Village Centre, so retailers have the opportunity to snow-test equipment firsthand and enjoy the ski-in, ski-out convenience of the resort.


Big White also offers special deals to support retailers and suppliers participating in the Demo Days such as discounts on hotel rooms, complimentary lift passes, dinner deals, and a special Supplier & Retailer Reception.
