This weekend, in celebration of BC Family Day, Big White Ski Resort is excited to host Family Channel Family Day Weekend. This event is shaping up to be one of the most fun-filled weekends of the year, with an exciting schedule of activities and shows for families of all ages to enjoy.
With over 57cm of fresh snow in the past seven days and more expected in the forecast for Thursday and Friday, conditions couldn’t be better for guests to arrive this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, families are encouraged to Cruz the Blues, a great chance to explore the whole mountain and win some amazing prizes! The process is simple – simply pick up a Cruz the Blues boarding pass at the concierge desk, hit the hill, and collect as many letters as possible from Big White’s blue runs. An awards ceremony will be held in Happy Valley Day lodge at 3:00pm on Sunday, with everyone winning a free t-shirt for taking part.
Not a skier or snowboarder? No problem – there will be plenty of other fun to be had on the hill. On Saturday, make a team and try Big White’s Family Channel Spectacular Race from 10am. Or sign up at to sing your heart out alongside Family Channel superstar Deepa Prashad in a Lip Sync Battle on the Village stage at 3pm.
On Saturday evening, Big White’s popular Family Channel Carnival night will be visited by special guests Josh Bogert, McKenzie Small and Aviva from Family Channel’s “Backstage”. It’s everyone’s chance to meet his or her favourite Family Channel stars! The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display at 8:15pm in Happy Valley.
On Sunday, Salomon Sports will have a booth set up in the Village from 10:00am-3:00pm, outside Dizzy’s, offering guests the chance to demo the new Salomon QST ski lineup.
In the afternoon, from 4:00pm, Big White will host the biggest concert the mountain has ever seen! Taking place in the Big White Tube Park, the show will feature live performances by Family Channel stars Josh Bogert, McKenzie Small and Aviva.
On Monday, in celebration of BC Family Day, all residents of British Columbia will receive 50% off lift tickets for the day. Guests must bring a valid BC driver’s license or ID to verify. With an outdoor carnival happening in the village in the afternoon and so much more, there’s no reason not to make Big White Ski Resort your BC Family Day plan.
Throughout the weekend, you can also fuel up before the slopes with a complimentary bowl of Quaker oatmeal at the Quaker Oat Lodge, open 8:00am-1:00pm and located at the bottom of the Ridge Rocket and Plaza Chair.
While accommodation across the mountain is sold out, families are still welcome to come up and enjoy a day on the slopes this weekend.
