Celebrate Canada’s Sesquicentennial (150) with Peachland on the Lake

Volunteer, Get Active and Watch Fireworks!

In honour of Canada’s Sesquicentennial (150), Peachlanders are encouraged to participate in 150 hours (this equates to approximately 3 hours a week!) of physical activity in 2017 as part of the Get Active Challenge. One of the ways you can participate is by taking part in our annual 3k walk or 5k/10k Beach Run which takes place on Canada Day along the shores of Okanagan Lake in beautiful  Peachland. Pick up your passport to Canada 150 at the Community Centre, submit your hours to the Community Centre by December 22, 2017 and be entered to win a $100 gift certificate to the Community Centre.

Canada Day celebrations also include a parade, activities, entertainment, cake and fireworks!

Canadians are encouraged to contribute 150 hours of volunteer time (approximately 3 hours per week) in 2017 as a way to give back to Canada and Canadians in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary (sesquicentennial). You will receive special recognition for your contribution of 150 volunteer hours when you attend the 2017 Civic Awards, which will be hosted in May 2018.
