January 11, 2017 – The Tourism Kamloops Hospitality Awards have arrived! Need an opportunity to nominate for your fellow hospitality ambassadors who continuously serve up customer service excellence with a side of awesomeness? That’s exactly what we’re up to!
These awards highlight and honour the best of the best on the front lines providing exceptional customer service when welcoming and engaging with visitors to our city and inspiring repeat visitation. We’ve teamed up with the Kamloops Blazers Hockey Organization to kick off a super fun, home-grown awards program that you’ll want to be a part of!
“Our hospitality ambassadors are so important to Kamloops and are usually the first point of contact for visitors. They play an integral role in creating amazing vacation memories throughout their stay. We really felt a need to celebrate greatness amongst them, but with a fun-filled, community spirited twist,” notes Beverley DeSantis, Tourism Kamloops CEO.
Four awards categories for nominations include:
- Most Valuable Player in Food & Beverage
- Accommodation Service Captain
- Attraction Services Leader
- Top Scorer in Tourism Services
Starting today, nominations can be submitted at www.tourismkamloops.com/hospitalityawards until January 27th. Full awards criteria and eligibility details are located on the Tourism Kamloops website.
A must-attend event for your whole team – nominees, finalists and winners will be recognized at an entertaining reception at the Parkside Lounge at Sandman Centre on Sunday, February 19th. Stick around for some hometown hockey action by cheering on the Kamloops Blazers as they take on the Prince George Cougars.
“We are very excited to be part of this new initiative to recognize and celebrate hospitality excellence in Kamloops. The Blazers Hockey Organization recognizes the importance of building community, working beyond what’s expected and celebrating success. This partnership aligns well with the vision of the Blazers organization,” says Missy Cederholm, Kamloops Blazers Ticketing and Promotions Co-ordinator.
