TOTA participated in Destination Canada's GoMedia Marketplace October 16 - 20, in Montreal.
Howard Grieve, Travel Trade and Media Specialist for TOTA recently met with journalists from around the world during GoMedia Marketplace 2016 in Montreal. At the Destination Canada organized event, there were 415 registrants, 132 media taking appointments, 140 partners, and a total of 3,939 appointments completed. TOTA participates as part of the Destination BC team in the BC section of the marketplace floor.
TOTA had 32 appointments over the two day event. Many more opportunities to pitch Thompson Okanagan story ideas occurred during social activities and tours. Key story ideas being pitched that received considerable attention were the Wonder of Winter non-ski activities, the Kettle Valley Rail Trail and Rail Trail Strategy, and winery experiences including accommodations and long table events.
Follow up with the media is being completed with two fams almost certain to take place in December and January.
GoMedia takes place every year with the 2017 event being in Nova Scotia in October.
