‘Field to Plate Come Celebrate 150’ is the theme of next year’s Interior Provincial Exhibition in Armstrong in recognition of the nation’s 150th birthday in 2017.
Recognized as the largest agricultural fair in the province, the IPE features livestock – ranging from cattle, horses, sheep, swine, goats and llamas – to horticulture, hobbies and crafts and domestic services.
“We had 2,259 exhibitors this year breaking the 2,096 number last year,” said Yvonne Paulson, the fair’s general manager.
A total of 150,086 people went through the gates during the five days of the fair despite the mixed weather, Paulson said.
“For the coming fair in 2017 we are very proud to celebrate 150 years of agriculture in Canada with ‘Field to Plate Come Celebrate 150’. This will be our way of celebrating the Federation of Canada for 150 years.”
The 118th IPE will be held from Aug. 30th to Sept. 3, 2017.
