Updates to the Thompson Okanagan Connector Visitor Centre located on Highway 97c are now complete.
In December, TOTA applied for funds through Destination BC’s 2016 Innovation Fund improve overall accessibility within the centre. This project included the replacement of the Visitor Centre’s glass entrance doors to include a electronic handicap door opener and to ensure that both the ladies and mens washrooms were easily accessible for those with physical limitations. This included having auto sensing taps and raised elongated toilets installed to replace the existing.
As the changes are now complete, it has ensured those with physical limitations are no longer hindered for trip planning and destination information when stopping into the Visitor Centre.
We would like to thank Destination BC, Visitor Centre Services for the opportunity to apply for this funding as without it the upgrades unfortunately would not have been able to proceed.
