Predator goes to the dogs

Predator Ridge golf resort near Vernon is going to the dogs – literally.

The resort is holding its first ever pet-friendly golf tournament on Aug. 28.

Golfers can bring Fido along to enjoy a day on the links as the pets’ masters compete in a nine-hole tourney.

Club members play free, and it’s $49 for all others.

There will be prizes for humans and canines, along with treats for golfers’ furry friends.

The event is also seeking donations to the local branch of the SPCA.

Predator is calling the event the “Petador Ridge Classic.”

It’s all part of Pet Month at the resort, part of Predator’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Executive chef Jeremy Luypen is whipping up gourmet dog treats all month, and there are also pet-friendly accommodation specials as well as golf with your dog Sundays each week, after 4 p.m.
