New Tourism Ambassador Project in Merritt
Merritt’s Tourism Ambassadors ready to welcome.
Thanks to a federal grant secured by the Merritt and District Chamber of Commerce, Dakota, Amrit and Chantelle will be greeting Merritt’s visitors all summer long.
Chamber Manager Etelka Gillespie says they will be based out of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, and an information kiosk on DeWolf Way.
“We’re going to be doing a tracking system of whose coming, when they are coming, and how many the trio are able to interact with on a daily, weekly and even monthly basis. This is huge and we have stressed to them that if the program is to continue moving forward they have to be successful.”
The trio of ambassadors will be wearing bright green shirts and cowboy hats.
They are scheduled to work Tuesdays to Saturdays through the end of August.”
