Scott Woods Concert – Love That Fiddle!
The Shatford Centre is pleased to present the Scott Woods Show – Love That Fiddle on Wednesday, June 1st at 7 PM!
This uplifting live show celebrates the magic of the fiddle and simpler times. Along with Scott Woods is a top-notch band including guitar, bass, drums, accordion and piano. The two-hour live performance features Scott’s famous trick fiddling – somersaults and walking on a barrel while fiddling; fancy fiddle tunes, traditional country and gospel songs, inspirational stories, family humour and sensational step dancing.
Scott Woods is a multiple winner of the Canadian Open and the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championships as well as Fiddle Entertainer of the Year. Scott’s famous trick-fiddling won the Canadian Novelty Fiddle Championship title and earned him ‘The Flippin Fiddler’ nickname.
For seven years, Scott was the musical director and played the part of Don Messer in a show called “Memories of Don Messer’s Jubilee”, paying tribute to the late great icon. He now travels across the country continuing his own family tradition of old time fiddle music that was started by his father and The Merv Woods Orchestra back in 1950. The Scott Woods Show is presented in as many as 150 communities every year. Proceeds from most concerts help to support churches, charities and other community service groups.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Ages 5 and under are free. Tickets are on sale now at the Shatford Centre (760 Main Street, Penticton). Doors open one hour prior to show time and seating is first come, first serve. Tickets will only be available at the door if the show is not sold out in advance.
