TOTA attends the Canadian Inbound Tourism Association Asia Pacific Winter Event and Marketplace in Richmond, BC.
Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association once again attended the Canadian Inbound Tourism Association (Asia Pacific) (CITAP) Winter Event that was held at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. CITAP was formed in 1997 to create an association that would represent the Asian tour operator community in the tourism industry. CITAP supplier and DMO members exhibit in an informal tabletop Marketplace where Receptive Tour Operator staff and guides can access updated information for planning, operations and reservations. Over 150 staff from local tour operator companies visited this year’s Winter Marketplace. Exhibitors are limited to CITAP members only but the doors are open for all tour companies, members and non-members. This year saw over 125 members from across exhibiting at booths, a record number.
Howard Grieve, Travel Trade and Media Specialist attended the event along with a wide variety of other Thompson Okanagan stakeholder members. Distribution of Travel Trade collateral was completed at the table top booth along with business card exchanges and requests for additional destination information to be sent.
Two bottles of Okanagan Wine were donated to the event by TOTA as door prizes and the winners picked up their prizes during the afternoon at the TOTA booth.
