The snow continues to fall at our local mountains with Big White Ski Resort reporting 28 new centimetres in the last 24 hours.
The alpine snow base currently sits at 46 cm after several days of consecutive snowfall.
The snow base has accumulated to the point where groomers have started track-packing in the Village, knocking the air out of the snow to sustain and maintain it for the upcoming season.
While the resort is currently set to open for 2015/2016 season on Thursday, Nov. 26, the resort is telling excited snow lovers on Facebook it could be sooner rather than later.
“Officially Nov. 26, but stay tuned – we’ll open as soon as it’s safe to open!,” wrote the resort on Facebook.
Big White is not the only local resort enjoying the white gold – Silver Star Mountain Resort near Vernon saw five cm of snow in the last 24 hours bringing its alpine snow base to 33 cm.
Apex Mountain Resort outside of Penticton had 14 cm of new snow fall, bringing its alpine snow base to 22 cm.
And Sun Peaks Resort outside of Kamloops saw 11 cm in the last 24 hours bringing its snow base to 25 cm.
