Learn about the value of cultural tourism to local communities and visitors, explore international approaches and trends related to this growing segment of the global tourism industry, and recognize the specific issues challenging the development and sustainability of cultural tourism. Explore various approaches to cultural tourism planning, and consider how to match the most appropriate approach to achieving the destination goals of your community or organization.
Instructor: Cheryl Hargrove (Washington, DC, USA) is present of HTC Partners, a company specializing in cultural tourism planning, development and marketing services. She was the first Director of Heritage Tourism at the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, DC.
