Sun Peaks: What’s New, Winter 2015 – 2016

133 runs… and Counting

Now Canada’s second largest ski area at 4,270 acres, Sun Peaks Resort is continuing to redefine its experience with additional trail development this year.

The ski area will continue to follow its long-standing Master Development Plan, created in the early 1990’s; a plan that has stood the test of time as the industry and community continues to move forward.

Spread across three mountains and encircling the intimate and convenient alpine village, the trail network is a vast connection of diverse ski runs allowing guests to easily rack up vertical. Last season over 500 acres of backcountry terrain was incorporated into the resort’s ski boundary, adding more alpine powder filled glade skiing into the terrain mix.

Across the valley on Mt. Morissey – the resort’s north facing mountain – additional advanced trails, Tumble Dry and Lint Trap, were completed and open to the public. And, the lift company isn’t done yet! New trail work is being completed on West Morrisey this summer in this challenging area, coined the ‘Laundromat’ section, in anticipation of the future West Morrisey Chairlift.
